RE: Nice Campground in Knoxville TN area

itchy wheels. If the Vols have a home game that weekend, better get your reservations in early. Knoxville gets full when Fulmer and crew are performing.

RE: Chattanooga to Anderson, SC

Highway Stars. You can't get there from Chattanooga. Well, really you can. I have driven US 64 to Franklin, US 441 to Commerce and I 85 to Greenville (Anderson), Its OK. DO NOT DRIVE US 64 east of Franklin unless you want underway inspection of your rear license plate. I have a 38 foot motorcoach and tow a CR-V.

RE: tuning Wineguard power antenna

Wow. What a great place to get information. Ask what time it is and find out how to make a clock. Fun reading and who knows, I might want to make a clock. Thanks again, everybody.

RE: tuning Wineguard power antenna

SCVJeff . Thanks, that's what I needed. My display shows a signal meter, no button on the remote, though. I'll try tuning to the meter after I've selected the digital channel. Appreciate all the good info (and the bad).

RE: tuning Wineguard power antenna

Cliford. Sorry about that, DPTv IS a pass thru box. Found out, however, that by turning OFF the box, the tuner on the TV works as before, ie, like no box was there.

tuning Wineguard power antenna

Now that have my DPTv converter boxes installed and working, sorta, how do I tune the batwing antenna. Before I simply tuned the station and rotated the antenna for best picture. Now, I put TV on channel 3, turn on the box and select channel with the remote for the box. Instead of a fuzzy picture, I get a dialog box telling me the signal is weak. I know, that channel may not be digital, yet, but do I need to rotate the antenna and how do I know the endpoint?

RE: Tri Cities Tennessee

Pirate is 100% correct. Carden's Bluff is hairy to get in and out of, mainly for pop-ups, small tag-alongs and 5ver's, and tents. It may indeed be Forest Service now but was built by COE as for construction of the dam 6o+ years ago.

RE: Tri Cities Tennessee

gokart2. Two private campgrounds, Rocky Top And KOA, both very nice and close to each other about 3-4 miles off of I 81 at the Tri Cities Airport exit. Warriors Path SP is close to Kingsport on Boone Lake. Carden's Bluff is a COE park on Watauga Lake between Mountain City and Elizabethton. Davy Crockett Birthplace SP is a little west near Chuckey, TN on the Nolichuckey River. I'm not a racing fan but if you are in the area when the races are on in Bristol, forget getting anything, usually all booked years in advance.
Ridgewood Barbecue is world famous, just out of Elizabethton. Bay's Mountain SP nice side trip, no camping for RV's. Rocky Mount State Historical Park worth the time. Also Tipton Haynes Museum near Johnson City.

Albany, NY,

I have carefully perused the TLD and find camping around Albany, NY somewhat lacking. Only thing I see is the combo campground and marina out on the Mohawk River, Glenville, I think it is. Anyone know of a closer or better place. Need a couple or three nights for DW to go shopping. All help appreciated.

RE: TAKE NOTE!! Jackson/Snake River KOA- Wyoming

Glad to add to the bash KOA club. Just stayed on two, one near Lexington, VA and the other out in the middle of nowhere off of I 81 in central PA. Both got $50/night for a pull thru with full hook-ups (50A). neither were near any big attraction. I did note on the customer survey but, also, have little hope of any change.

RE: white streaks

trickto322. Hi. The white streaks are from normal oxidation of the gelcoat. Solution is as previously noted. Seal the gelcoat with something like wax or polish, which you select will determine how long it lasts, the more difficult it is to apply, the longer it will last. Two years is about the max for a hard paste wax, less, maybe, in bright sunlight.

RE: Nova Scotia

Last visit to Maritimes was in 2005, fairly soon after bridge to PEI was finished, whenever that was. At that time, one paid only to leave he island, that is if you returned via ferry you paid the ferry for one way, if, on the other hand you returned on the bridge, you paid only the toll for the bridge, regardless of which route you accessed the island. May have changed since then. Anyway, cheap, compared to ferry cost to Newfoundland.

skycop. Our preferred route when going to Texas and returning. Great drive. We go the whole way, make good time even with 50mph limit.

RE: Nova Scotia

ikejan. Agree with delrob. This is when we prefer to go to The Maritimes, however, Spence is correct, at least as far as Provincial Parks are concerned. The biggest attraction, the scenery, is open year round.

pcasey250. Try Huntington Beach SP in Murrell's Inlet, SC. It's about 15 miles south of Myrtle Beach.

RE: Scenic route Out of maggie Valley?

campkrazy. Do not recall previous thread, however, it's hard to beat the Blue Ridge Parkway, just south and west of Maggie Valley to US 441 at the NC visitors center then over Newfound Gap. If you are stating out in Cherokee then just go north on US 441. My favorite drive in the area is the Cherohela Skyway from Robbinsville to Tellico Plains, then north on US 411 to Maryville then the Foothills Parkway to Pigeon Forge. The Cherohela Skyway may be the prettiest drive in the US. It is a bit out of tour way.
